CTL- 300S
Description
The new CTL-300S is a high production output machine designed to finish turn the commutator of starter armatures. Turning of the commutator brush track area is realized via diamond-tipped tool, mounted onto precision machine slide.
During the turning operation the armature is rotated on its own bearing journals in diamond half-bearings. The belt rotational system is driven by a A.C. drive motor.
After loading the work piece onto the bearing supports and closing the front safety door, the operator is ready to initiate the cycle. Pushing of the start button moves the drive carriage down until the belt drive contacts the armature lamination O.D. and starts the drive motor. When the armature rotation reaches its proper speed, this signals the tool slide with the diamond tool to feed into and across the commutator surface. Upon completion of the cutting operation, the drive motor stops instantly and the slides return to initial position, allowing the operator to open the front door and remove the finished part so a new one can be uploaded.
